What do you think about online learning?

For this blog post, I will be answering this question. I was online for grades: 7 and 8, but this year thank god I go full time to school now. I will be sharing my experience and I hope you join can join me in the comment section below this post. I will also be giving you some tips and advice on how to work effectively in this online period.

Due to covid-19, most schools have opted for the safer way of education- Online school. Personally, I hated the online period. I just feel that I wasn't extremely productive or motivated in my school work. To be honest, I didn't achieve much in these two years, and maybe that's just me. But I missed quite a lot of online video meetings with my teachers, and that made it hard for me to complete assignments. I always felt distracted and found it hard to grasp the content.

Pros of online learning:

  1. Flexibility in time aka self-paced learning
  2. Learning from the comfort of your home (or any other location)
  3. Easier time management  
  4. More sleep time ;)
  5. Problems like bullying are reduced
Cons of online learning: 

  1. You may find it hard to grasp some topics
  2. It might lead to a bit of social isolation
  3. Some students need to be shown exactly what to do via demonstration
  4. Blue light can cause students pain 
  5. Some students may not have a quiet environment available
  6. It may be hard to stay in one place for long periods
Advice on how to cope with online learning and learn efficiently:
  1. Understand online learning expectations and practices
  2. Try to find a quiet environment to study in
  3. Have a dedicated study place
  4. Ask for help when you need it
  5. Build a study plan
  6. Time-management
  7. Take study breaks when needed
  8. Try to communicate with family and health
  9. Maintain good mental health
  10. Make sure you have reliable internet access

Of Mice and Men- Exam style question, Section 1

How do I structure my answer? To obtain full marks on the character or motif question you must write 3 paragraphs. Their instruction is something like this: P- point: answer the question. E- Evidence: quotation (proof to your point) E- Explain: how does your proof back up your point? D- Language devices used in quotation. + - How does the reader feel?   What's the writer's intention?
